I originally met Averil through St Columba's and also came in contact with her via eco-networks in Oxford. When my children were small we often used to call round to Averil's where she would always have something nice for them to eat and drink and a selection of toys, including everyone's favourite - the dog on wheels. There are so many memories of Averil - her wonderful poetry, the early clock collection, her love of and pride in her family, the beautiful patchwork cushion covers and other craft pieces she made from her husband's old ties, and of course Mustard Seed House - her practical demonstration of care for people and the planet.
